Homage to Doctor Who

A long time devote of the BBC television series Doctor Who, I have been collecting and viewing the program and its literary continuation for as long as I can recall. This has led to a definite influence in my work.

As a way to show some creativity while still keeping true to the characters that I loved, I decided to create true versions of my favorite character.

Being a bit of a completionest, I did research on all of the 10 actors to portray the title character over the 30+ years that the program has been in production. Taking what information that I was able to gather, I took my base form and adjusted them torepresent the correct heights of all the actors throughout time. Taking reference photos from throughout the series, I was able to create renditions of the iconic costumes that were worn through the years.

Here is what I was able to come up with.

Put together with each other and various hallmarks of the serial in general, they create a nice vista into the ever evolving universe of Doctor Who.

Comic Book Character Design Interpretations

As a project I worked on designing the visual of how existing comic book characters would look in my designed style, this led me to adjust how the costumes would fit, as well as making adjustments for body types.

The variety of comic characters that have been designed over the years, allowed me to pull from various company’s and time frames, to allow for showing how characters have evolved over the years.

As part of the design process, I was working on how they would animate in a 3d or 2d medium, this led to versions of the mouth shape, for lip sych purposes.
